A dog that I turned over to the SPCA for animal welfare concerns a few months back is up for adoption. She is so goofy and lovely. I think I might go through with it.
Her name is now Myah, though, which is way more lame than what we called her, but whatever.

She’s come around to the name you had for her. =)

Whatever you call her, she’ll figure out that it equals DOG , and that she is also DOG , and it’ll be fine. They tend to like food and playing and they make those connections, at least in my limited experience.

Do it, there may be challenges given your situation, but both of your lives will be enriched because of it.
*on the other hand, Targa ate a remote (she’s ok). So... maybe you want her :P

You can call her whatever you like. Our rescue came with a mediocre name, and we changed it no problem. Dogs are pretty smart, especially if you leverage a few hot dogs.

She looks like a sweetie. And apparently you are a good human being. My Rin came with the name Runt. I had difficulty
finding a good
“
R” name, then heard Rin i
n an
anime.

That anime better not have been 50% Off Free.
Naming things is hard. It’s like... you can’t take back a name. That’s what it is. It’s bad luck changing names, at least in the sailing world.

I only have one remote, I can’t stand that kind of damage.

It’s looking likely!

One of my employees is trying to give away her husky really bad and finding no takers. Its so damn tempting, but I’m not locking one in the house for 8-9 hours a day. Still, free husky...

Huskies are great dogs, but they also take a degree of work that many people aren’t prepared for. They do tend to be willful, and often destructive if not properly trained and mentally stimulated.
Mine was fantastic, but I also put in a lot of time to get her to behave that way.

This one, while a ball of energy, apparently does really well in her crate. I have people close by willing to help out.

Do it. Huskies are wonderful dogs.

I grew up with a husky, so I’m ready for a challenge. But I think I can manage it.

Beautiful dog. Having lost my beloved 14-year-old husky in October, I cannot recommend these loyal, smart, stubborn, lovable shitheads highly enough.

If I would I could in a heartbeat, this one is such a good dog. She'll find someone I'm sure. Trouble is the thing has figured out how to unlock and open doors and windows

I’ve really come to like Rin as a name. Although people keep saying Rin Tin Tin which annoys me.
TIL bad luck to change names in sailing
. My rule:
Keeping
the first letter the same protects you from bad luck.

Shelters often choose names based on a repeating list of colors and gemstones or similar .

There was a Rin in all of them? ah yes, how could I forget Rin Tohsaka - I like tsunderes. I don’t remember a Rin in NGE or Re:Zero.
The Rin I liked was from Usagi Drop. I really like the anime. So I also read the manga - oops - very bad ending.
Rin appears to be quite common in Japan?
Or at least anime. Like Mary or Susan.

Oh wait, that’s Rem and Rei, not Rin... One for three!
I like the name Rin too

Not much of a weeb, are you?
;)
oh yeah, I like Rei. I’ll have to save that for another dog.

For sure. And to be certain, I wasn’t trying to imply that you were ill-prepared. Just that I often see huskies get adopted then wind up right back a couple months later.

Well if you're into manga, there is Hellstar Renima...

hmm... “

Heh, I was thinking: https://inuyasha.fandom.com/wiki/Rin (my anime references may be dated), so you can add that to your list.

It sounds like you're ready, and it also sounds like your dog has found you
![]() 03/04/2020 at 22:33 |

Yes. You are dated. Same era as me. Appleseed,
Mai the Psychic Girl, Nausicca, Dirty Pai
r
, Gunsmith Cats?
I have the first 30 or of the printed Inuyasha
comics (Viz?
) but
eventually dropped them because of repetitiveness. Don’t remember Rin in there at all.
